WELCOME TO CUBA!

 

Day 1 – Saturday :: Hello Cuba, bienvenido a La Habana

 

  • Arrival at Havana's José Martí International Airport
  • Meet your tour guide and bus driver
  • Transfer to your hotel in Havana
  • Check-in to hotel and welcome cocktail
  • Arrival dinner at hotel

 

Day 2 – Sunday :: Getting to know Old Havana and its people

 

  • Breakfast in hotel (included)
  • Tour of the Museum of Modern Art
  • Lunch at El Santo Ángel restaurant
  • Walking tour of Old Havana
  • Discussion with Dr. Marta Núñez or another island expert on contemporary issues in Cuba
  • Return to hotel to freshen up
  • Welcome dinner at a five-star restaurant (included)
  • ESPECIAL: Attend El Cañonazo, the 9 PM Cannon Firing Ceremony (included)

 

Day 3 – Monday :: The natural splendor of rural Cuba

 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Morning departure to Las Terrazas eco-community
  • Visit ancient coffee plantation
  • Lunch at Casa del Campesino on the banks of the Río San Juan
  • Return to Havana hotel to freshen up
  • Dinner at La Barraca Grill followed by a dance show at Cabaret Parisién at the famed Hotel Nacional de Cuba

 

Day 4 – Tuesday :: Urban agriculture, Hemingway house

 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit Vivero Organopónico Alamar, an urban collective farm
  • Lunch at Ajiaco paladar [restaurant] serving farm-fresh organic meals
  • Visit Hemingway’s Finca Vigía museum and glimpse his life in Havana
  • Return to your hotel and freshen up
  • Dinner (not included), an opportunity to explore Havana’s private restaurant

Day 5 – Wednesday :: Historic Cienfuegos and Trinidad de Cuba

 

  • Breakfast at hotel (included)
  • Early departure to Cienfuegos and Trinidad
  • Lunch at restaurant Villa Lagarto (included)
  • Tour the beautiful historic city of Cienfuegos
  • Onwards to Trinidad
  • Check-in to your all-inclusive resort hotel
  • Trinidad group welcome dinner

 

Day 6 – Thursday :: UNESCO World Heritage Sites

 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Walking tour of Trinidad’s historic district, an opportunity to meet and talk with locals
  • Visit a centuries-old family run pottery studio where we'll spend time with its artisans
  • Visit the Valle de los Ingenios [Sugar Mill Valley] lookout
  • Return to hotel for lunch
  • Afternoon exploration of costal environs
  • Dinner at hotel

 

Day 7 – Friday :: Mountaintop excursion in Soviet Army trucks

 

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Climb Topes de Collantes in the Escambray Mountains in Soviet Army trucks
  • Visit Hacienda Codina, a Spanish coffee plantation
  • Lunch at Hacienda Codina
  • Return to your Havana hotel and freshen up
  • Farewell dinner at Restaurante El Templete

 

Day 8 – Saturday :: Say goodbye to Cuba – for now

 

  • Breakfast in hotel
  • Transfer to Havana’s José Martí International airport
  • Air departures
  • Missing Cuba so much already

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED?

  • Round trip air - Inventory for air has not been released. Will update when we have a quote. You are always welcome to purchase your own airfare.
  • Gratuities for tour guide, bus driver, chambermaids, restaurant staff, porters
  • We strongly recommend trip interruption and cancellation insurance. See Travel Insurance here.
  • Cuban Visa/Cuban Tourist Card - Usually provided by the airline for a small fee.

 

 

ADD-ON's

 

Add-ons can be selected after you make your initial deposit. Once you make your deposit, make sure to inform us which add-on you would like and we will break the total up into equal monthly payments. The add-on monthly payments will be added to your monthly payments for the land package of the vacation. Example: The private Vintage Havana By Night tour is $149. ($149/09 = $16.56 added onto your monthly payment until paid off. This is based on your deposit being made in January 2017) These tours can be taken advantage of on any free evening of your choice. The maximum number of people who can participate in these add-ons, per tour, is 20 people.

VINTAGE HAVANA BY NIGHT

6 Hours

Transport in Classic American Car - 4 ppl per car

 

INCLUSIONS

  • Services of an experienced English speaking local Havana tour guide
  • Chauffeured Classic American Car to tour Havana
  • Cocktail making lesson & one cocktail
  • Dinner and two drinks included at one of our favorite restaurants
  • Transport throughout the evening
