  • 1. WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO TRAVEL?

    US citizens do not currently require a visa for stays of up to 30 days in Thailand if arriving by air. If you are crossing into Thailand from one of its land borders stays of up to 15 days are permitted without a visa. As with most countries your passport must be valid for six months after the date of departure from Thailand and have a minimum of one unstamped double page free.  Nationalities of other countries should check their visa requirements

     

    Please make a photocopy of your passport’s identification page and keep it separate from your original. It’s also a good idea to leave a digital copy with someone at home. This may speed up the replacement process should you lose your passport.

  • 2. DO I NEED TO REGISTER?

    Yes you need to register for this trip in order to secure your hotel rooms. Please click here to register. All Travelers must read, sign and return our TRAVEL AGREEMENT back within 14 days of paying their deposit. In the event we do not receive your statement in this period of time, your entire booking may be canceled in which case all payments previously made will be non-refundable.  Thank you

  • 3. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

    This package is quote comprehensive as the following items are included within the cost of the itinerary:

    Once eBiz Travel  has received your full land deposit for your vacation, that land price is guaranteed and you are protected against any base land price increase due to currency surcharge. Any subsequent land increases are at eBiz Travel and/or its vendors' expense, not including energy cost increases and/or any government tax increases. Single Occupancy is an additional $765. No triple occupancy available.

  • 5. DO I REALLY NEED INSURANCE?

     

    Protection Insurance can prevent you from incurring a financial loss before your trip. Should you have to cancel for any of the following reasons: (Illness, Injury, Death, Unannounced Strike, Hijacking, Jury Duty, Court Ordered Appearance or Traffic Accident).   • 6. HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I NEED TO BRING?

  • 7. AIR TRAVEL INFORMATION

    Economy class internal flights are included in the price. This will include flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai to Phuket. Round trip international flights from/to the United States are NOT included. You will need to book one way travel from LAX to Bangkok and one way travel from Phuket to LAX (or from whatever airport you will be traveling from). Once we secure deposits for 15 people, we will research group airfare. If group airfare is secured, monthly payments can be made. Of course the particulars will be decided by the airline.

  • 8. CAN CHILDREN TRAVEL WITH US?

    Yes, children 12 and over can join us on our vacation. The cost will be the same as if they are an adult.

  • 9. WHAT ABOUT ELECTRICAL OUTLETS?

    Thailand uses 220V AC electricity. Power outlets most commonly feature two-prong round or flat sockets.

  • 10. WHAT ABOUT ADDITIONAL EXCURSIONS/TOURS?

  • 11. WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A ROOMMATE?

    You do have the option to get a single occupancy room there is an additional fee.. If you would prefer not to travel alone, we can match you with another traveler. If you are a single traveler seeking a roommate, please fill out our personality questionnaire at the end of the registration form so we can better match you. We cannot guarantee that we will find you a roommate.

  • 12. WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE?

    After the deposit has been paid, Monthly minimum payments are divided evenly across the trip balance. Monthly minimum payments towards balance is required and will be automatically deducted. FINAL payment must be made by January 15, 2018.  Failure to meet this deadline will result in your trip being canceled and your money being refunded as per the refund policy. Insurance is highly recommended.

  • 13. TRAVELERS WHO NEED SPECIAL ASSISTANCE ON TOURS/AND OR CRUISES?

    You must report any disability requiring special attention while on tour or on cruise at the time the reservation is made. We will make reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of disabled travelers, but is not responsible in the event it is unable to do so nor responsible for any denial of services by air carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers. eBiz Travel and its vendors cannot provide individual assistance to a vacation participant for walking, dining, getting on and off coaches, cruise ships, and other vehicles, or other personal needs. A qualified and physically able companion should accompany travelers who need such assistance. If we are not notified at time of reservation of any disability requiring special attention, eBiz Travel and its vendors reserve the right to cancel your booking or terminate your vacation if your special needs or disabilities are not suitable for the vacation, are incompatible with other travelers, or if you are not traveling with a companion who provides all the assistance you require. eBiz Travel nor  its vendors will not refund or cover any costs or expenses incurred for cancellation, booking, or termination of the vacation. Cancellation penalties, as above, apply.

  • 14. CAN I SMOKE?

    Smoking is not allowed on transportation. This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, e-cigars or any other smoking device. If you require a smoking room a request may be submitted, but we cannot guarantee availability

  • 15. CAN PETS GO ON THIS VACATION?

    Pets are not allowed on this trip.

  • 17. WHAT ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS?

  • 18. HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP ?

    HOTELS

    At a hotel in Thailand it is nice to tip the bellboy or porter 20 to 50 baht depending on how many bags they carry. A tip won't always be expected but try to remember that a hotel worker in Thailand may only earn 200 baht a day. As such a tip of 20 to 50 baht will go along way and may lead to exceptional service later.

     

    Your hotel maid won't expect a tip but nevertheless some guests will leave a small tip of 20 to 50 baht in an envelope on the pillow of the bed. Whilst this won't be expected it is a nice gesture and it will certainly be appreciated.

     

    RESTAURANTS

     

    At cheaper restaurants in Thailand it is customary to leave your small change behind. If you are eating at a small roadside place then you should round the bill up. In high end restaurants tips are more likely to be expected because the waiters are professionals. Here you should tip at least 10% for good service but only if there is no service charge on the bill. You should hand your tip directly to to the waiter. If you are served by multiple people give the gratuity to the most senior waiter who served you. Make sure that the other staff who served you can see this and indicate clearly to the waiter who the tip should be shared between

     

    SPAS

     

    If your Spa treatment in Thailand is at a high-end hotel then you should tip good service at-least 10%.

    If your visit an independent Spa then you should consider the tip to your therapist a little more carefully: For a short massage less than one hour long you should tip 50% or a minimum of 50 baht. If your treatment is longer then you should tip 100 baht per 30 minutes. Hence a two hour massage should receive a tip of at least 400 baht.

     

    You should give your tip directly to your therapist and you should pay in cash to ensure that they will receive the gratuity.

     

    TAXI DRIVERS - DO NOT TIP

     

    Taxi drivers in Thailand will not expect you to tip, however most taxi drivers in Thailand will round up the fare. Ordering a Taxi in Thailand

    Taxis are metered so don’t ask how much it will cost. You shouldn't have to settle on a fixed rate. If you take a taxi from the airport, avoid services by Touts. You can order a taxi from the taxi desk – they will probably give you a sheet of paper with your taxi driver’s name on it. Keep this in case there is a problem. There is always a surcharge for taking a taxi from the airport. There is no surcharge when going to the airport. If you hail a cab, don’t hold your hand out with your finger pointing upwards, this is considered rude. Keep your hand horizontal, with your fingers facing downwards.

     

    TOUR GUIDES

     

    In Thailand you can tip the equivalent of between $5 and $10 per day for the tour guide (the guide should be giving a portion of your tip to the driver).

  • 19. ARE THE RESTROOMS THE SAME AS IN THE U.S.?

    Hotels and nicer restaurants have western toilets. Budget hotels and shops have squat pots.  A squat toilet (also known as a squatting toilet, Indian toilet, or Turkish toilet) is a toilet used by squatting, rather than sitting. There are several types of squat toilets, but they all consist essentially of toilet pan or bowl at floor level. There will be a bucket with a ladle inside that is used to flush the toilet.

    Make sure you bring your own toilet paper. Public restrooms rarely have any. Also make sure to use the restroom before leaving your hotel and utilize the facilities of the better restaurants before you leave.

  • 20. SHOULD I DRINK THE WATER?

    Don’t drink tap water in Thailand -- stick to bottled water. Don’t worry too much about the ice however as it’s usually mass-produced at factories using purified water. It’s easier for businesses to use the commercial ice than going to the expense of making their own. The good ice is tubular in shape; be more wary if it’s crushed ice, as you’ll find at some cheaper street stalls. And if you’re fresh off the plane, starting out with a salad at a dirty roadside stall may not be your most inspired move. Click here for copy for World Nomads Safety Guide

     

     

  • 21. IS SWIMMING SAFE IN THAILAND?

    If you’re unfamiliar with the ocean and its waves and currents, take care and stick to areas patrolled by lifeguards --Phuket beaches have them, but the vast majority of Thailand’s beaches are unpatrolled.  A red flag means the beach is not safe  for swimming. Beach conditions are more dangerous during the monsoon. People drown during the monsoon every year, particularly on Phuket and Ko Chang. The flags are there for a reason. Ignore them at your peril. When you’re swimming, kayaking or white-water rafting, any cuts or abrasions you have might be a source for bacteria to attack you.   • 22. THINGS THAT ARE ILLEGAL IN THAILAND

    1. Use, possession, or trafficking of drugs. Penalty: Death in the worst case, but more likely a really long time in an atrocious prison where you’ll soon start thinking that the death penalty would’ve been better.

    2. Insulting the king or royal family. Penalty: Sharing a cell with the drug runner above. Thailand has extremely strict lese majeste laws. Travellers should be careful to not say or do anything that might be construed as offensive (in any way) to the royal family. Insulting the king can be as easy as defacing his image on a baht note, so don’t scrunch up bills or draw funny glasses on His Majesty.

    3. Not wearing underwear. Penalty: Well, first of all having some cop doing an undies check! Then a heavy fine. Why is this so? Dunno. Just put on some clean ones.

    4. Not wearing a shirt while driving. Penalty: Don’t know, we’re too busy asking why, why, why? We’re also waiting for the anti-topless TV advertising campaign: “Shirtless driving? – Bloody idiot!”

  • 23. WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

    Cancellation charges

    The following cancellation charges apply.  Period before departure Cancellation date within which written Charge notification is received at Per Person our offices.  Balance due by January 15, 2018

     

    Up to Balance Due Date  -  Deposit Only

    Balance Due Date - 43 days days prior to commencement of services: 30% of total price

    42-29 days days prior to commencement of services: 60% of total price

    28-3 days days prior to commencement of services:  90% of total price

    Within 2 days days prior to commencement of services: 100% of total price

     

    Alterations or cancellations by you after commencement of travel and unused services. We will do our best to implement any changes to your arrangements you request once they have commenced, but we cannot guarantee this will be possible. In the event of such amendments being made you will be liable for any cancellation charges that may be levied for the services originally booked, and for the cost of booking the revised arrangements and the arrangements themselves. As a basic principle, no refunds will be paid to clients who do not complete a trip. However where we ourselves are able to obtain a refund from hotels or principals for services not used, we will pass this on to you, less any administration charges. If you have taken out travel insurance you may, depending on the details of your policy, be

    able to recover the cancellation charges. If we change your trip

     

    We start planning the trips we offer many months in advance. Occasionally, we have to make changes to itineraries, hotels and other details both before and after bookings have been confirmed. While we always endeavor to avoid changes and cancellations, we must reserve the right to do so. However, we will only cancel your confirmed booking after balance due date where you have failed to comply with any requirement of these booking conditions entitling us to cancel (such as paying on time) or where we are forced to do so as a result of ‘force majeure’ as defined herein. We will not cancel after this date for any other reason.

     

    There will be 2 attempts to rectify late payments or declined payments. After that your trip will be canceled and a refund will be given based on the cancellation policy. Refunds can take up to 30 calendar days.

     

    FINAL payment must be made by January 15, 2018.  Failure to meet this deadline will result in your trip being canceled and your money being refunded as per the refund policy. Insurance is highly recommended.
